NTD 10th International Chinese Voice Competition

This weekend of August 30th and 31st, Soh Young, Mr. Cho and Gus Segredo attended the 10th International Chinese Voice Competition. The semi-finals were held on Saturday for almost 5 hours and the finals were held on Sunday from 11am to 4pm. We had the additional pleasure of attending a Master's Class on Sunday beginning at 9:30am. It was led by world famous mezzo-soprano Frederica Von Stade. Ms. Von Stade was everything one could hope for. The quintessential professional making suggestions that immediately benefitted the students.

The finals came down to 11 men and women. By the end the winner who was selected was a remarkable tenor from Vietnam. But honestly, my husband believed that he was a "ringer". It turned out that he was an employee of the Shen Yun organization which was related to the event, as well as, the judging staff.
