On Saturday, August 23, 2025, there will be the 3rd year joint celebration of India-South Korea Independence Day. It will take place in the Indian Consulate hosted by the Consul General of India, NY (Ambassador Binay S. Pradhan Consul General) in partnership with Shanti Fund & the MultiCultural Council of NY.

The joint celebration started at the Indian Consulate in 2023, and then in 2024, it took place at the Korean American Association of Greater New York. (KAAGNY)
Programs will include a Mini Concert by Soh Young & Friends, Indian and Korean National Anthems, Speech from both countries representatives from Consulates, message by the KAAGNY President, Immigration Story, reading of a high school student's essay, traditional dances from both countries and audience participated singing of a song, Let There Be Peace on Earth.
" India and South Korea have the same Independence Day on August 15. As a founder/President of Multicultural Council of NY (established in 2012) and a volunteer of Shanti Fund, this celebration is meaningful to me since the collaboration depicts and advocates Creativity, Diversity, Equity, Opportunity and Unity", says Soh Young Lee-Segredo
Shanti Fund (Lead volunteer, Arvind Vora) volunteers are committed to promote peace and enlightenment through education. Since 1994, the volunteers have worked with schools and
organizations to promote peace education.
